Before I start with this house, I would like to acknowledge credit where it is due. I by no means discovered or created this build technique. It was created by a Chinese builder I think by the name of naver muler84 (at least that is the name on his or her blog). The technique was also engineered by Teeheehee. I only utilized what those two wonderful builders found to create this house.

Also before I start with the story of this house, as usual if there are any world builders out there looking for someone with whom to collaborate on lots and architecture and like my creations, let me know, I would be most interested. The series I am creating now does not have any general themes (although because I am not very creative with titles, they will all be given French names so I don’t think too long about it hah) but it will be breaking a few CFE rules and focusing on details. This house is titled Chez Hobbit (literally “at the Hobbit’s house”). It is of course based on the famous works of Mr. Tolkien as you might have guessed hah.

Backstory –

In the winter of 2003, the nights were colder than usual and the air always maintained a lingering chill. One night while eccentric billionaire Nore Negonc was dozing off in his hotel room while attending the International Summit for Unity and Equality (along with many of the world’s leaders), he was awoken by a distinct and familiar noise. It was the sound of none other than Gandalf the Grey traveling through a rift in space and time to find Nore. He came with an urgent invite to have Nore join a quest he was starting to destroy the One Ring. Nore however had to refuse his old friend stating that there were urgent matters in his own world that required his attention. Nore, feeling bad though, did travel back with Gandalf to build a house for those that Gandalf recruited. He designed it to be one with the earth around it to avoid an unwanted gaze and enchanted it to allow entry to only those in the fellowship. Bidding adieu to his old friend, Nore returned back to his room where not more than a moment had gone by, wide awake and ready to tackle the summit the following day.

Details –

Chez Hobbit is definitely one of the smaller houses in my creations list. However, do not let the small entrance fool you as there is a much larger utilizable area underground. Some of the key features in the house include the actual structure of the house as well as a small garden in the front. As with Le Guetter, the house is unfurnished indoors to allow you some creativity in how you furnish it :)

Lake – Here is an image with the full form of the house from the side. You can also see the lake here.

Front – You can see here the general view of the front of the house. To the right you can see a small lake, the middle is for the entranceway and to the left is a small garden.

Above – Here we can see the view from above of the house. You can see that the majority of the house resembles a small hill.

Entrance – Here you can see the underground view of the entrance. As some of you might be aware, when you utilize this build technique, nothing that you use to furnish the entrance will show above ground (besides doors and windows). That is why you cannot see these lights above ground, and it is also why the benches in the front were not thrown into the entranceway. In the image, you can also see the stairs that lead to the second floor of the house.

Floor 1 – Here you can see an overview of the first floor. Right now you can see only the stairs that lead to the second floor. I thought it was also kind of cool that because you are underground, you can also see the majority of the second floor, so you would not need to move floors in order to move sims from one floor to the other.

Floor 2 – Here you can see an overview of the second floor. In the foreground you can see the stairs that lead to the entrance hall and in the background you can see the stairs that lead to the third floor. It is also good to note that all these floors are of normal wall height so you can build new walls to create rooms as you see fit.

Floor 3 – Here you can see the last floor, floor 3. There in the back you can again see the stairs that lead to the second floor. If you need more room, you can create 2 other floors down as well as create extra room on floors 2 and 3. Be certain CFE is set to true while you build so as not to mess with the form of the outside of the house.
