Chapter 8 Rybelle

Chapter - Rybelle

Rybelle fastened the wolf's head clasp of her cloak and then admired the white silk at length. The golden dire wolf insignia of the Judicars was embroidered on the back.

Rybelle was what you might call gifted. Since she was a girl, her spellcraft had been exceptional, oft times she would be educating her teachers than the other way around. At two and twenty, Rybelle had just become the youngest Judicar in the Imperium. She smiled to herself and walked out the castle doors. Guards and servants alike moved out of her way as she walked by, her brilliant white cloak shining in the sunlight.

As she neared the castle entrance, the guards on watch stood to attention.

"Mistress Rybelle, nice to see you, do you have business in the city?"

"Yes," Rybelle lied, "I will return to the castle shortly."

Rybelle had no business in the Reserve, truth be told, she was looking to walk the streets in her new cloak. Rybelle had dreamt of joining the Judicars since she was practicing in the yard with wooden swords. She traced her fingers softly along the gemmed grip of her new sword, fondly remembering the barracks at her family home.

Rybelle moved purposefully as she walked along the river road. Most observers moved quickly out of their way. Those that did not, Rybelle gave a little nudge to the side with her mind. Basic spellcrafting like this she could do in her sleep.

She neared the city walls and decided that she was feeling so good today that she did not even mind the smell of Simki. She walked for a bit and took a seat at an outdoor table of a Natrium tavern. A short, skinny man hurriedly walked to her, looking quite nervous.

"Uh… Mistress, welcome… uh, w-what can I get you?"

"Get me a glass of your finest wine and a croque-monsieur, and take care that it does not smell of this place."

"Y-yes right away."

The short man hurried off again.

Rybelle looked around as she waited. Ragged Simkis and Simki children ran amok. She normally never ventured to the outer city, but today she was feeling rather good. While she was here, she might as well have a little fun. She noticed a Simki man walking on the other side of the street carrying a large bag of vegetables, likely just coming from the market. Rybelle lifted a hand under her cloak and gently swished her wrist. The man lost his balance and fell over, the contents of his bag with him. Rybelle grinned, looking on as the man hurried to gather his belongings.

She looked around again and noticed a few Simki children kicking around what looked like a soccer ball, but the leather was so old and worn out that Rybelle could not tell. She grinned again as she thought of an idea and lifted her hand again.

"Here you are Mistress Rybelle," the short man interrupted.

Rybelle glared at him and the man stepped back a bit.

"I am no longer hungry," Rybelle courtly exclaimed and turned and left without another word.

Next chapter - TirOk so I went and created most of the titular characters. I also redid a lot of the old ones with new clothes or in some cases new hair to better match the new story. I do not have time to act out the story at the moment so for now enjoy the sims just uh... standing around haha. I figured it would at least be nice to see what they look like in the world Enjoy!
